Parents of Primary Students Collaboration
Last year Calhan Elementary developed a program to bring Preschool parents together and provide them with information about Early Childhood and the development of their child. This year we are excited to extend the program to kindergarten families as well! The hour-long event includes 30 minutes of information for parents, and then 30 minutes of parent discussion about the topic and challenges they are facing. This year's event will be on Friday, March 16th, at 12:00 in room #123. Mrs.Caryl Manuszak from Pikes Peak BOCES will be leading the discussion about the importance of play for primary students. Popcorn and drinks will be served! Don't miss this fun and informative event!
Calhan Elementary School’s Parent/Teacher support organizaton, ParTnerS, raises money each year to provide our students and teachers with many extras. This fall they used their funds to purchase the most expensive supplies from Calhan’s supply lists, reducing the cost for parents to send their children back to school. During the 2017-2018 school year, this group has continued to support for our students and staff . This month, ParTnerS will be sponsoring an elementary dance on Friday, March 16th from 4:00-6:00 in the cafeteria. The theme is GREEN! The cost is $1.00 which includes entry to the dance and dinner (hotdog, chips, drink). Students can stay afterschool on the 16th with a signed permission slip. Parents are encouraged to join their children for the dance, but it is not required. Students may turn permission slips in to their classroom teacher or to Miss Brttany in the front offce on or before March 7th. Please mark your calendars for this special event!! Hope to see you there!
